McKeever added to his previous junior World Cup wins in Rosny, Sweden, in 2017 and Sunlight, Switzerland, in 2018.

Earlier in the day on the men’s side, Canada’s Eric Law won his country’s first gold of the Games.

Germany’s Alex Breitner and Tomas Schneider won silver, with Germany’s Marco Schwarz taking bronze.

Britain’s Jack Renwick finished 30th.

Cross-country skiing features in the programme in two of South Korea’s most northerly host cities – Seoul and Jeongseon – and the first events are scheduled to be held on Sunday.
