A Toronto man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement in connection with incidents at a North York church dating back to 2013.
Matthew James Liguori, 33, was arrested in Victoria on Friday, after police began investigating three victims with incidents occurring at an east Toronto church on Ivey Avenue, just north of an airport entrance.
His arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the Divisional Public Corruption Unit and Service Unit Holdups, a specialized squad that investigates sex crimes.
Liguori is charged with three counts of sexual assault, forcible confinement, and assault. He is to appear in court on Feb. 28 in Milton, Ont.
The victims are male and have been identified, police said.
