… BOMB!, is a compendium of clips — some real, some made-up — conceived as part of his recent production, “In the Heights.”

The project features a wide variety of genres, including silliness, homage and silliness all combined, in a way that’s celebratory and contemplative; comical and melancholy.

1 / 29 The forthcoming soundtrack for “In the Heights” is “Illuminaton: A Collection of Songs in Four Movements.” Lin-Manuel Miranda (once again) performs and co-writes with Sia, Jay-Z, Nick Jonas, The Gershwins, Bon Iver, Tame Impala, Kwes, Miguel, Tame Impala, Lionel Richie, Jason Mraz, Anne Hathaway, Tony Bennett, Sara Bareilles, Esperanza Spalding, Bjork, Nile Rodgers, Jimmy Cliff, Miguel and Nick Cave. From Perez Hilton’s karaoke rendition of “Lin-Manuel Miranda: An American Hero,” to the early days of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, the clips range from political commentary, to field footage, to heartbreak.

The project has taken 10 years and, by Miranda’s own admission, it took him six years just to pen “In the Heights.” It’s a play, after all, whose director and music came into focus a much longer time after it premiered on Broadway.
