Health News: Nuggets, Warriors To Play in Denver on Nov. 7

Tuesday’s game between the Nuggets and Warriors was rescheduled. Again.

Monday night’s game was the second time the NBA postponed a game between Denver and Golden State, from Oct. 10. The second postponement came after Warriors forward Draymond Green was diagnosed with a hyperextended left knee following a collision with Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler.

But one more postponement isn’t out of the question. In the interest of not putting any further pressure on the Golden State star, the NBA made the decision Tuesday to play the game in Denver on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

But that’s if a handful of unknown factors are kept off the court.

NBA sources told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated that Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. has a nerve injury in his back that is symptomatic of a nerve injury that developed due to lower back pain.

Spotted from the moment he exited his hometown of Seattle for the Nuggets’ third preseason game, Porter Jr. has missed nearly two months of action since his left hip flexor popped out while in the air during a preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The reigning No. 1 overall draft pick out of Missouri has missed the Nuggets’ first 12 preseason games and will have the hip removed on Thursday, according to the league source. He is expected to undergo an MRI and the league source said Porter Jr. was seen by experts who were confident this will not involve a tear of the hip flexor.

This comes after Nuggets coach Michael Malone said his team was “really optimistic” about Porter’s situation. Malone said he was “hopeful” and the source said his team believed that Porter is “recovered” from surgery.

The surgery? An outpatient procedure.

Team docs want to remove a disk from Porter’s lower back and place a titanium hip flexor brace, the source said.

Green told reporters on Monday night that his left knee was “really stiff and sore” but he plans to play in Wednesday’s contest.

In addition to Nash, the Nuggets will also be without starting point guard Jamal Murray on Wednesday. He left Monday’s game due to right knee soreness.
